About me
I graduated as a Psychologist at ELTE, I earned my Bachelor’s degree as a Human Behaviour Analyst at Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church and I have completed a Specialist Training Course in Mental Health and Organizational Development at Semmelweis University. My work is influenced mostly by person-centred approach and the principles of systemic therapy. I am a trained Person-Centred Counsellor (Hungarian Association for Person-Centred Psychotherapy and Counselling), and a Family Therapist (Hungarian Family Therapy Association). Currently, I take part in the postgraduate Adult Clinical Psychology course of the University of Pécs, and attend the theoretical seminar of the Hungarian Group Analytic Society. I am following evidence-based practices, which rely on firmly grounded scientific research and efficiency studies.
I work as a volunteer for the so-called Civil Group Weekend (Facebook) initiative, which aims to increase social self-awareness. During a three-day event that lasts a long weekend, participants have the chance to experience themselves in group situations and study group phenomena. Meanwhile being part of a wider social environment appears in the groups.
Professional background: theoretical approaches
Humanistic and person-centred psychology
During my work I am following person-centred principles. The essence of the person-centred psychological school is that every person has huge inner potential for self-understanding, for development and for growth. In childhood, the external feedbacks of our environment about us become internal. This may lead to the consequence – when we become adults – that our perception of our organic experiences conflicts with what we think about ourselves through others. We automatically put others’ evaluation of us first, and we become alienated from our true self and inner experiences. In a professional helping relationship inner reserves and hidden resources may be catalyzed, which remove the obstacles of development and lead to the path of inner freedom. This way our here-and-now experience gets closer to what we ideally would like to be.
Systemic approach, EFT
Systemic approach has its roots in family therapy. The central idea is that individuals do not exist in isolation but in relationships as part of their environment. The person is in constant interaction with those around them, their family and their groups. A disease or a symptom often cannot be explained by examining the individual alone, but rather the whole relationship network around the individual, taking into account their interactional patterns and dynamics. This way, symptoms may be interpreted as a disorder of the system itself. If the system changes, so does the individual, and vice versa. If one point of a rubber net starts moving, in some way the entire mesh will respond to the change.
